John's Crazy Socks, a company founded by a father and his son with Down syndrome, passed $1.7 million in revenue in its first full year.
John grew up wearing crazy socks and one day approached his dad, Mark, and asked if he wanted to go into business together. The company started out by putting up a Facebook page and hand delivering socks to local customers.
Those customers, blown away by John's infectious personality, began taking pictures with John and the socks and posting them on social media. Soon, word begin to spread like wildfire.
In their first full year in business, the company shipped 42,000 socks and earned over $1.7 million in revenue.
They've also raised $100,000 for their charity partners and have raised awareness for Down syndrome through their socks and hiring practices. John's Crazy Socks seeks to hire employees with intellectual disabilities and highlight what they are capable of.
